Job description

Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Youth Coordinator | Discipleship role at Journey Church is to provide discipleship and pastoral care to our female Youth minsitry members, and to work with the Youth Director and Youth Coordinators in creating and executing a holistic discipleship model for middle school and high school students that aligns with Journey Church's vision and strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shepherd and Care for Female Students
    • Provide pastoral care for the female students through prayer, counseling, and relational connection - helping individuals navigate faith, purpose, and life transitions.
  • Oversee Youth Groups Ministry
    • Manage and support all Youth small groups by training leaders, maintaining communication, and ensuring groups stay healthy, growing, and aligned with church vision.
  • Lead Volunteer Development and Resourcing for Offsite Small Groups
    • Recruit, resource, and train volunteer teams for all Youth offsite small groups. Oversee care of leaders throughout the Spring/Fall semesters.
  • Oversee & Execute Student Leadership
    • Plan & execute the student leadership process during the Spring and Fall semesters. Additionally the student leadership "summer intensive"
  • Oversee Youth Dream Team
    • Provide opportunities for students to serve on Sundays and Wednesdays and work alongside Ministry Leads to ensure students are being coached and discipled in these ministry areas.
  • Support Leadership Pipeline
    • Work alongside the Youth Director to identify and develop emerging leaders through intentional training, and growth opportunities.
  • Manage Communication and Follow-Up Systems
    • Ensure consistent communication with leaders, volunteers, and students - including texts, emails, and event follow-up through Planning Center or equivalent tools.
  • Collaborate with Youth Team on Sermon Series & Topics
    • Partner with the Youth Team to brainstorm sermon topics and bottom lines.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Campus Teams
    • Partner with the Creative and Production Teams to execute service plans, stage designs, and event materials with excellence and alignment to Journey's brand.
  • Support the Weekly Execution of Gatherings and Events
    • Assist in planning and coordinating logistics for services, retreats, and outreach events.
  • Preach and Teach Biblically Relevant Messages
    • Prepare and deliver Christ-centered, practical, and culturally relevant messages that engage students and inspire spiritual growth at least 4 times a semester

Additional:

  • Communicate and create clarity around the values of Journey Church's culture within Journey Youth.
  • Promote and serve at church wide ministry events.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.


Sunday Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new leaders on Sunday Mornings.
  • Do all others duties as assigned by campus pastor
