WORK SCHEDULE:Hybrid - 4 days in-office, 1 day remote

PAY: The expected hiring range for this position is from $20.39 to $23.99 plus additional bonus opportunity. The stated hiring range is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. Final compensation decisions will take into account a variety of considerations, including individual skills, internal equity, and organizational needs

JOB SUMMARY:

TheTax Specialistis responsible for ensuring that tax invoices are processed accurately and timely. Thisrolereports to the Property Tax and Insurance TrackingTeam Lead andmanagesa large group of loans assignedbyspecific states. This roleresearches, obtains, and processesa variety of tax related correspondence and followsup accordingly. TheTax Specialistplays a crucial role in helping the business make sure tax bills are paid in adherence to the entity required or requested form of payment along with proper documentation.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Property Tax Payment Processing

  • Processes payments to Tax Authorities ensuring timely and accurate payment of tax bills.

  • Ensures individual county requirements are met regarding attached forms or documents as needed.

  • Maintains a sequence of loans and follows-up in a timely manner.

  • Utilizes Taxing Authority websites to retrieve tax bills and audits bills ensuring all tax projections are considered and setup accurately.

  • Requests Tax Bills from customers and Taxing Authorities via mail, email, and phone.

  • Inputs updated information for tax suppliers and address changes.

  • Researchesaccounts for new county requirements and tax exemptions and updates accordingly.

  • Assists in reviewing penalty and interest write offs.

  • Participates with reviewing and resolving internal and compliance audit exceptions.

  • Monitors the Tax Tracking queue and assists with making updates as needed.

Research

  • Handles new loan set up and determines accurate tax projections in the Tax Tracking system alongwith verifying amounts for correct escrow payment consideration.
  • ResearchesProperty Assessments on 3rdparty websites and updates the system for appropriate handling.
  • Reviews returned checks for appropriate action.
  • Analyzes Tax suitsin order torecommend payment to upper management.
  • Investigates Tax levies to ensure funds are coming from the appropriate accounts.
  • Audits loans that are not registered with the county and communicates with customers on how to appropriately register their home.
  • Monitors all tax projections to ensure appropriate payment is made to the accurate tax authority.

Correspondence

  • Completes all internal customer service requests in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Connects with customers, 3rdparties, and vendors via phone and by email to educate or request necessary information.

  • Processes county required forms such as Assessments, Refunds, Payoffs, Registration, Reallocation of Funds, and Moving Home.

Other duties as assigned

  • Audits Government Servicing loans as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:High School diploma or equivalent required, college preferred.

  • Experience:Minimum 1 years related experience required; 1-2 years related experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills with ability to type at least 25 wpm.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person.

  • Capability of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken.

  • Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.

  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of all company/department policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal lending regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.

  • Will be constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Will be communicating 90% of the time over the phone.

  • Will constantly work in a state-of-the-art indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
