Position Status: Regular, Full-time (1.0 FTE)

EFW Radiology is currently seeking a Disability Management & Employee Wellness Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care!

The Role:

The Disability Management & Employee Wellness Specialist supports employee wellbeing through the administration of EFWs abilities management and wellness programs. This includes workplace accommodations, attendance management, disability management, safety and safe and early return-to-work planning.
The Disability Management & Employee Wellness Specialist contributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of wellness programs that support the holistic health and wellbeing of employees and promote a positive workplace experience.
Through the development of strong working relationships, the Disability Management & Employee Wellness Specialist also provides timely and relevant advice to managers and employees regarding Safety, Human Resources (HR) processes, programs, and policy interpretation.

Reporting to: This position directly reports to the Manager of Human Resources.

Role Overview:

  • Builds strong relationships with supervisors, managers, and employees to support workplace wellbeing, safety and HR initiatives.
  • Manages abilities management programs, including workplace accommodations, modified duties, medical leaves, fitness-for-work assessments, and return-to-work planning while maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Serves as the primary HR contact for accommodation and disability management inquiries from employees, leaders, and third-party providers.
  • Maintains accurate case management records and coordinates with payroll, insurers, leaders, and other stakeholders on leave and return-to-work processes.
  • Coordinates and administers various employee leaves of absence.
  • Coaches and advises leaders on attendance management, wellness concerns, and complex employee situations.
  • Supports occupational health and safety programs, incident tracking, WHMIS compliance, and Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
  • Leads workplace incident investigations, communicates findings, and recommends actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Assists with health and safety training development and delivery.
  • Coordinates employee wellness programs, campaigns, and resources that promote physical, psychological, and occupational wellbeing.
  • Promotes employee support resources, including EFW's Employee and Family Assistance Program and wellness services.
  • Provides guidance on HR policies, procedures, and processes to employees.
  • Contributes to HR projects, research, policy development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Maintains HR documentation, manages HR inboxes, and performs administrative support duties as required.

You have the following:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management; or a business-related field is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in disability case management and workplace accommodation, as well as experience relating to mental and physical health promotion.
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector is an asset.
  • Have or working towards Disability Management Professional certificate, or Certified Return to Work Coordinator, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards legislation, Alberta Human Rights Act, Albertas Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) as well as familiarity with the Alberta Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR and disability management principles and best practices.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, coach/consult, and mediate conflict.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem solving ability.
  • Desire to continually upgrade skills, knowledge, and expertise in the HR profession
  • Professional attitude in all interactions with employees, supervisors, managers, and directors.

Location

  • This position is based at our Head Office located in Seton (Calgary SE) but requires the ability to travel to any EFW location and provide own transportation as required.
