Living Support / Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Great Livin' in Albuquerque, NM is actively seeking a reliable full-time or part-time Living Support / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support our residential clients with disabilities in leading self-directed, independent, meaningful lives. This assisted living position earns competitive pay starting at $15.00 to $18.00 an hour. Great Livin' LLC takes into consideration your years of experience and training. Shifts Needed:

Monday through Friday, Grave shift: 11:00 PM - 9:00 AM.

Weekends, Friday through Sunday, Day shift: Friday - 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday - 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.

Weekends, Friday through Monday, Day shift: 9:00 PM - 9:00 AM.

We believe training is an important component of this position. Great Livin' LLC. offers paid training to all employees. Training includes all Developmental Disabilities Supports Division state-based trainings, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Handle with Care trainings.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF LIVING SUPPORT / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)

As a Living Support / Direct Support Professional, you support adults with developmental disabilities who receive DD Waiver (DDW) services to live their best lives as independently as possible. You provide this support and guidance in our assisted living homes and programs. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including bathing, hygiene, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping. You are always careful to model appropriate social skills and behaviors. Your passion for teaching others about disabilities helps you become the best caregiver for your residents.

Using effective teaching and mentoring techniques, you also work with participants to learn new skills and achieve goals. You are happy to help them get better access to the community by assisting them with educational and recreational activities. Conscientiously, you keep accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about their health or safety. You find the work of supporting people with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives according to their own needs and abilities extremely rewarding!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LIVING SUPPORT / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP)

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint and background check (Provided by the company)
  • Complete a TB Test (Provided by the company)
