Job description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.
Job Summary
Our client seeks a dedicated Research Assistant to join their expanding team. The primary responsibilities include supporting laboratory experiments, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup, execution, and documentation of experiments under supervision.
  • Prepare reagents, solutions, and materials required for experiments.
  • Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, microscopes, spectrophotometers).
  • Record and organize data accurately in lab notebooks and digital systems.
  • Monitor and maintain lab inventory, including ordering supplies and restocking materials.
  • Clean glassware and sterilize laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols, including proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on lab tasks and project progress.
  • Support general lab maintenance and organization.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Willingness to work the second shift 12:30pm-8:30pm
  • Lab Assistant Background/Data Background in Healthcare
  • Preferred: Previous experience as a Research Assistant

Additional Requirements
Initial training will occur during the first shift (8am-4pm) before transitioning to a full-time 12:30pm-8:30pm second shift.

Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)).
  • 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
