Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Controller for our Health Insurance division. This is a remote position, providing an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to bring their expertise to our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in forecasting, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, risk management, and process improvement.

This position plays a crucial role in our organization, overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. 401K match Medical/dental/vision Strong PTO Paid holidays 100% remote Responsibilities: Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure. Coordinate, analyze, and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).

Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms, and review firms' performance. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive job cost system.

Direct and analyze studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's policies and operations. Analyze operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determine their financial impact. Evaluate and recommend business partnering opportunities.

Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization. Works with financial institutions to enhance financial activities. Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.

Prepare workpapers needed for the annual audit, and coordinate the audit process. Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile. Ensure that record-keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. CPA, CMA, or other related certification is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Experience in the health insurance industry is preferred. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
