The Virtual Cardiac MRI Specialist performs cardiac MRI scans remotely, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety. The Remote Cardiac MRI Specialist will have a deep expertise in cardiac anatomy and pathology, proficiency with MRI technology and the ability to collaborate virtually with technologists, cardiologists and radiologists. In addition, this role as Remote Cardiac MRI Specialist will serve as MRI Cardiovascular Imaging subject matter expert across Cone Health.
Essential Job Function
  • Operate MRI systems remotely to acquire high-quality cardiac images.
  • Guide on-site technologists or assistants in patient positioning and protocol execution.
  • Ensure adherence to cardiac MRI protocols including cardiac function and viability, stress perfusion and MRA exams.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort during remote scanning sessions.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and radiologists to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
  • Review and assess image quality, troubleshoot artifacts, and recommend re-scans when necessary.
  • Advanced working knowledge of post-processing cardiac MRI datasets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records in EMR systems.
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiac MRI techniques, driving innovation to expand CMR workflows and processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
  • Required: Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or related field.

Experience
  • Required: Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiac MRI imaging.

Licensure/Certification/Listing
  • Required: ARRT or AMRIT certification in MRI
