The Opportunity:

The Associate Director LTD Claims is leadership role offers the chance to shape the future of disability claims management through strategic planning, process innovation, and product development. The position leads a high-performing team of claims professionals, driving operational excellence, compliance, and strong engagement while ensuring accurate and customer-focused claim outcomes. With a strong digital mindset, this role champions automation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making to enhance both efficiency and the client experience. It also plays a key role in advancing tools, influencing product enhancements, and maintaining alignment with industry trends and regulatory standards-making it ideal for a collaborative, forward-thinking leader passionate about innovation and impact.

How you will contribute:

  • Participate in strategic planning, product development, and claim management initiatives.

  • Lead and manage a team of claims professionals focusing on strong job performance, talent development, and engagement.

  • Ensure efficient, effective, and compliant team operations and accurate risk management of disability claims.

  • Develop and refine claim handling processes and standards.

  • Lead with a digital mindset driving operational efficiency through automation with the customer experience as the priority.

  • Ensure operational metrics and audits drive accuracy, accountability, and outcomes.

  • Spearhead product initiatives and technological enhancements, including advancement of tools and techniques.

  • Ensure prompt resolution of complaints and issues.

What you will bring with you:

  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people

  • Strong leadership skills and a minimum of five years of supervision/management experience, including leading teams and functions.

  • Five years of demonstrated success in Disability claim management.

  • BA/BS in a related field of business is highly preferred.

  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate strategic direction to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Deep understanding and experience with managing disability teams and adherence to state and federal laws that impact disability claim management, including ERISA and state leave laws.

  • Demonstrated success in building trust-based partnerships and solving both strategic and tactical matters.

  • Effective in leading through change in a positive and effective manner, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • A working understanding of the functions required for successful partnership with internal parties, including underwriting, distribution, and legal compliance.

  • Field or industry-specific designations are a plus.

Salary Range: $103,000 - $154,500
