This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, compliant, and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff while maintaining regulatory standards and overseeing department personnel.## ## Key Responsibilities* Plan, organize, implement, and oversee all maintenance department operations* Develop and maintain maintenance policies, procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules* Coordinate maintenance services with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, activities, and other departments* Supervise maintenance personnel and evaluate department performance* Conduct daily and weekly facility inspections to identify and address maintenance needs* Oversee building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, generators, boilers, and related equipment* Ensure outside vendors and contractors complete work according to contracts and work orders* Participate in regulatory surveys and inspections* Develop and implement corrective action plans for maintenance-related deficiencies* Oversee facility safety, fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and life safety programs* Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and safety regulations* Maintain and monitor SDS/MSDS documentation and hazardous material storage* Train maintenance staff on safety procedures and equipment operation* Monitor department expenses and assist with budgeting and cost control* Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, and departmental reports* Respond to emergency situations and facility needs as they arise* Ensure confidential resident information is protected at all times* Ensure proper disposal of medical and hazardous waste according to facility policies## ## Supervisory Responsibilities* Direct supervision and leadership of Maintenance Department personnel* Staff training, coaching, scheduling, and performance management* Department accountability for maintenance, safety, and environmental services functions## ## Qualifications### Education & Experience* High school diploma or equivalent required* **supervisory experience** in maintenance, plant operations, or a related field* Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care maintenance experience preferred* Experience managing maintenance budgets and personnel preferred### ### Skills & Abilities* Strong leadership and organizational skills* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities* Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects* Strong communication and teamwork skills* Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies## ## What Makes You a Great Fit* Hands-on leader who leads by example* Strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance knowledge* Commitment to resident safety and comfort* Organized, dependable, and proactive* Passionate about maintaining a high-quality healthcare environmentWe are an equal opportunity employer.
