Job Title: Director of Product Management
Job Type: Full-time
Location: Remote - United States (Austin, Dallas, Houston)

ย NON-NEGOTIABLE: AI-Driven Mindset ย | ย You must demonstrate active, daily use of AI tools in your product workflow. This is a core competency, not a bonus.

About CloudBees

CloudBees is defining the future of AI-native DevOps - and we need a Product Marketing leader who can shape the narrative that makes that future legible to the market. We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing who operates at the intersection of strategic storytelling, competitive intelligence, and market-making. This is not a content factory role. This is a thought leadership mandate.

This is a high-impact individual contributor leadership role reporting directly to the VP of Growth & AI Innovation. You will own the voice of our product in the market - from category creation and analyst relations to launch execution and sales enablement. You will be the connective tissue between what we build, what buyers believe, and what analysts write.

About the Role

CloudBees is building the future of AI-native DevOps. We are looking for a Director of Product Management (Growth Hacker) who will lead the product strategy and execution for our next-generation platform - driving speed-to-value for mid-market development teams. ย

We are not looking for someone who waits for a playbook to appear. We are looking for someone who writes it. This is a high-impact individual contributor leadership role at the intersection of product, engineering, and go-to-market, reporting directly to the VP of Growth and AI Innovation.

Your Mission: Own the market narrative that makes CloudBees' AI-native DevOps platform the obvious choice for mid-market development teams. You will define how the world understands what we build, why it matters, and why now. You will shape analyst perception, arm the sales team with conviction, and build the content and positioning engine that drives durable category leadership.
You will solve for what is challenging and create what is missing.

Key Responsibilities

Positioning & Messaging

  • Own the end-to-end messaging architecture for Smart Test and Unify - from category-level narrative down to feature-level proof points
  • Develop and maintain a living positioning framework that evolves with the market, not just with product releases
  • Translate complex DevOps and AI capabilities into crisp, buyer-resonant language for C-suite, engineering leads, and procurement
  • Lead category creation efforts around Agentic DevOps - defining the language, the problem, and the CloudBees-specific right to win

Thought Leadership & Analyst Relations

  • Serve as CloudBees' primary point of contact for analyst briefings - Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and emerging DevOps-focused analysts
  • Develop the briefing strategy, own the narrative arc, and ensure CloudBees is positioned for inclusion in key Magic Quadrants, Wave reports, and Market Guides
  • Build and execute a thought leadership content calendar - point-of-view papers, executive bylines, conference keynote frameworks, and AI-native DevOps research
  • Represent CloudBees at the May Agentic DevOps Conference and the June Roadshow (SF, NY, Paris, Japan) as a market-facing voice
  • Identify and cultivate customer advocates and practitioner voices to amplify the CloudBees narrative

Competitive Intelligence

  • Own the competitive intelligence function - continuous monitoring, synthesized analysis, and actionable guidance for sales and product
  • Produce and maintain competitive battlecards, win/loss frameworks, and objection-handling playbooks
  • Partner with Intelligence Solutions Architect (Sean Mahaffey) to build AI-accelerated competitive research workflows
  • Brief sales leadership on competitive positioning before key deals and enterprise conversations

Sales Enablement & GTM Execution

  • Build the sales narrative toolkit: pitch decks, demo scripts, one-pagers, ROI frameworks, and discovery question guides
  • Own launch readiness for new product releases - coordinate messaging, timing, and sales activation with engineering, product, and demand gen
  • Partner with demand generation on campaign messaging, ICP definition, and account-based marketing (ABM) content
  • Drive the Smart Test Agent launch narrative and post-launch positioningย

Market Research & Voice of Customer

  • Design and execute buyer research programs - win/loss interviews, ICP validation, and messaging resonance testing
  • Synthesize customer, prospect, and market signals into quarterly positioning reviews
  • Actively participate in key prospect conversations and customer advisory sessions to ground positioning in real buyer language
  • Use AI tools to compress research cycles and surface insight faster than any competitor's PMM team

Qualifications

Required

A demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit, you have built programs from zero, fixed broken processes without being told to, and created market opportunities others had not yet identified.

  • 7+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a senior IC or leadership role in B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record of building category-defining narratives for developer tooling, DevOps, or infrastructure software
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and software delivery workflows - you can speak credibly to a VP Engineering without a translator
  • Experience owning analyst relations - you have conducted briefings, been cited in reports, and understand how to move perception at Gartner or Forrester
  • Demonstrated ability to build competitive intelligence programs from the ground up - not just reactive battlecards, but proactive market sensing
  • Strong fluency with AI tools - both as a practitioner accelerating your own workflow and as a market thinker who understands where AI changes the DevOps category
  • Track record of producing high-quality, high-velocity content: messaging guides, point-of-view papers, executive narratives, and sales enablement assets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to command a room at an analyst briefing and a whiteboard session with engineering alike

Preferred (not required)

  • Familiarity with predictive test selection, CI observability, or software quality intelligence platforms
  • Experience with agentic AI products or AI-native developer tooling
  • Prior exposure to mid-market SaaS sales cycles and champion-driven selling motions
  • Experience operating in a startup-within-a-startup or incubation-style environment
  • Established relationships with DevOps or platform engineering analyst community

Our Culture: The G.R.I.T. Squad

We are a team that values grit, innovation, and customer-centricity. Through trust, collaboration, and an entrepreneurial spirit, we aim to be the 1% that consistently delivers transformative solutions and exceptional customer outcomes.

Growth

Striving to better ourselves, the team, the product, and the company through continuous innovation and learning.

Integrity

Being honest, ethical, and consistent in our actions and words. Trust is the foundation of everything we build.

Teamwork

Working collaboratively and supporting one another to achieve collective success. Great Results In Teamwork.

How We Measure Success Together

  • Collaboration: Success is measured by how well we communicate openly, leverage each other's strengths, and create outcomes no individual could achieve alone.
  • Accountability: We follow through on commitments. We own our results - the good and the hard - and we use both to grow.
  • Customer-Centricity: Every decision we make is traced back to a customer need. Customer satisfaction, loyalty, and feedback are our north star.

What Will Make You Successful

Beyond technical skills and experience, the people who thrive on the G.R.I.T. Squad share a common set of traits. If these describe you, we want to meet you:

  • You think in narratives, not features - you start with the market problem and work backward to the proof point
  • You are a category thinker who can credibly answer: "Why is Agentic DevOps a category, and why does CloudBees own it?"
  • You have a bias for clarity - your messaging guides, briefing decks, and Slack updates are models of concision
  • You use AI to compress research, draft faster, and sense the market in real time - not just to generate first drafts
  • You operate with a new-logo mindset - every positioning decision is viewed through the lens of "will this make a mid-market buyer trust us faster?"
  • You are a magnetic collaborator who brings engineering, sales, and analysts onto the same page without friction
  • You lead with intellectual honesty and are willing to kill a messaging angle that data does not support
  • You treat analyst relationships as long-term investments, not quarterly transactions
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Pay Range: $260,000 - $290,000 annually. In accordance with applicable law, this represents a reasonable estimated compensation range for this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location and may be more or less than the amount shown above. Outside of base compensation, CloudBees also offer stock options and variable bonuses.ย
