About Somersault
Somersault Operating Inc., the largest franchisee of The Little Gym, proudly operates 30 gyms across 8 states. With a vision to be the world's leading youth enrichment franchisee, we develop exceptional leaders through top-tier training, mentorship, and career growth. Our mission is to nurture children's physical, mental, and social development by combining The Little Gym's renowned curriculum with passionate instructors who bring energy, creativity, and heart-creating a magical space where learning, laughter, and confidence grow together. We seek leaders who actively pursue growth, both personally and professionally, and we're committed to supporting that evolution.
About the Role
As an Area Director, you are a builder of businesses, of teams, and of culture. You'll oversee 2-3 gyms within your area, partnering closely with your Sales Lead, Program Director(s) and coaches to drive enrollment, grow revenue, and create vibrant, high-performing locations where our members and our team feel the energy the moment they walk in. This role is built for a strong operator and numbers person who is comfortable in Excel, energized by KPIs, and bringing a sales and hospitality-first mindset. Teaching is not required; your focus is on growing the business, coaching your team, and protecting the upbeat culture that makes Somersault gyms feel like home.
What You'll Do
Data, KPIs & Financial Performance
• Live in the numbers. Pull and analyze reports in Excel to track performance, spot trends, and translate insights into clear, actionable plans for each gym
• Own your gyms' key KPIs: revenue growth, EBITDA, labor %, enrollment, conversion, retention, family satisfaction (NPS / Google ratings), brand and safety compliance, and staff development
• Hold weekly Touch Bases with your Sales Lead and Program Director(s) to review numbers, celebrate wins, and align on growth priorities
Leadership and Team Development:
• Lead, coach, and develop your team into strong, confident operators who have pride in their gym and its success
• Build a fun, upbeat, growth-minded culture across your gyms with the kind of energy people feel the moment they walk in
• Communicate clearly and often with your team and District Manager through Slack, email, and in-person conversations
• Partner with our recruiting team to bring strong talent into your gyms, then own onboarding, development, and retention to build benches of future leaders
Operations and Brand Standards
• Visit each gym in your area regularly to stay close to the team, the members, and the day-to-day pulse of the business
• Ensure operational excellence, brand consistency, and a safe, sparkling, welcoming environment
• Oversee front desk operations and member account management to handle billing, payment, and account issues quickly and with care
• Monitor capacity utilization and class mix, staff schedules and labor costs
Business Building & Sales
• Lead the charge with your Sales Lead on enrollment, revenue, and growing the local pipeline by coaching the team to turn every member into a raving fan
• Own the inquiry-to-enrollment journey by coaching your team on follow-up and conversion scripts, and hold each gym to clear benchmarks
• Champion a family-first culture and own retention by analyzing attrition, month-over-month trends, and celebrating milestones with members
• Drive grassroots growth with community partnerships, school relationships, local events, camps and birthday parties to keep families connected and revenue growing year-round
You'd Thrive in This Role If
• You're a number person at heart with a love of hospitality and leading a team
• You connect naturally with people and love lifting others up and watching leaders grow
• You're equal parts operator, strategist, and culture builder
• You're energized by visiting gyms, building relationships, and creating businesses that make a real impact on families and communities
• You're ready to step into more responsibility than a single gym, with a path to grow even further inside Somersault
What You Bring
• Track record of driving enrollment, revenue, and retention and the sales and customer service acumen to coach front-desk conversations
• Highly comfortable in Excel and data-driven decision making; proficient with scheduling software, and standard productivity tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred - equivalent experience considered
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; comfortable with regular travel between locations
This is not a remote position. This role follows a 5 day work week, including one weekend day. Flexibility is key, as the schedule may adjust to meet the evolving needs of your gyms
Compensation: $65,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
