Job Summary 

Director of Product Development and Innovation will lead product strategy, development, and execution of Chubb's traditional group employee benefits portfolio. This role leads product innovation, competitive positioning, market analysis, and go-to-market execution across Chubb's traditional group disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment products. The ideal candidate will be an expert of disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment products along with how they fit within the employee benefits landscape. This leader will partner across the enterprise to support product development, product strategy, distribution, implementation, training, and ongoing portfolio management. 

Responsibilities  

  • Provide Leadership and Direction: Serve as a subject matter expert and strategic product leader, helping guide priorities, influence decisions, and manage and mentor team members.

  • Lead and Execute Competitive Analysis and Product Strategy: Own market intelligence, competitive benchmarking, and strategic recommendations to strengthen Chubb's position in the group life and disability marketplace.

  • Lead Product Development and Innovation: Oversee the design, enhancement, and launch of innovative, competitive, and profitable group disability, life, and accidental death and dismemberment products that meet market needs and support business growth.

  • Responsible for Product Management: Responsible for contract and form development, state filings, product documentation and business requirements.

  • Oversee Product Positioning and Marketing Support:  Develop product messaging, positioning, and collateral with product marketing to support sales, distribution, and market differentiation.

  • Partner with Internal and External Stakeholders: Collaborate with product strategy leads, distribution, underwriting, operations, and other stakeholders for each of the Chubb Benefits distribution channels to support large opportunities, custom benefit solutions, and effective sales execution.

  • Assist With Product Training and Onboarding: Establish product training strategies, onboarding materials, and ongoing education to ensure internal teams and distribution partners are equipped for success.

  • Support Product Implementation and Governance: Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth product implementation, alignment with operational requirements and consistency across product processes.

  • Represent Chubb in the Marketplace: Partner with leadership to reinforce Chubb's value proposition and represent the organization externally with professionalism and market credibility.

Education and Experience 

  • 7+ years of experience in product development and/or product management in the traditional group employee benefits market, specifically voluntary and employer-paid life and disability products.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product strategy, launches, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience supporting distribution, marketing, implementation, and training efforts.
  • Direct experience with reviewing, interpreting, and drafting life and health policy forms and state filings.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

The pay range for the role is  $100,000 to  $120,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website.  The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
