Responsibilities

The Sr. Director, Commercial Learning and Development and Onboarding will design and lead the strategy and execution to build enterprise-wide capabilities in support of Celldex’s first commercial product launch. This leader will establish and scale onboarding and learning programs across the Company, including but not limited to sales, marketing, and market access, ensuring teams are fully prepared for success. Partnering cross-functionally, the Sr. Director will establish the foundational training infrastructure, oversee content development and delivery, and continuously measure and enhance learning effectiveness.Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute the commercial training strategy for a first product launch for all commercial functions
  • Develop foundational onboarding programs for medical affairs, sales, marketing, market access teams and other home office and field functions
  • Partner with HR to integrate best practices into Corporate Onboarding Program
  • Build and deliver launch training curriculum (e.g., disease state, product, competition, objection handling)
  • Lead development of training materials, tools, and job aids in collaboration with Medical, Regulatory, Legal, and Commercial stakeholders
  • Coordinate and execute live training events (e.g., national sales meetings, launch meetings, field rides)
  • Select and manage external vendors (e.g., content development, training platforms, LMS)
  • Establish training metrics and assess program effectiveness; drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, including promotional review and training documentation
  • Serve as point of contact for all commercial training needs across the organization
  • Build training infrastructure (e.g., LMS, certification processes) appropriate for scaling post-launch
  • Hire, manage, and develop L&D team
  • Lead matrixed training team with dotted line oversight of field marketing managers, commercial operations, and other select functional representatives
  • Provide operational support and adult learning best practices to medical affairs organization
  • Develop and execute training curriculum for Physician Speaker Programs and Patient Advocacy programs
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in biotech/pharma commercial training or related roles required
  • Pre-launch experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to create training from scratch in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Excellent vendor procurement and management experience
  • Expert knowledge of adult learning principles and training effectiveness measures
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to ~35%)
  • Prior field leadership experience preferred; prior team leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with sales, marketing, market access, and Medical Affairs professionals, as well as HCP customers
  • Experience and/or expertise in Training & Development roles in highly clinical/scientifically-driven teams, and innovative cultures.
Compensation

The expected base salary range for this position is $203,157 to $263,841.

We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors including experience, education, licensure/certifications, skill level, location of the position, and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary bonus, long term incentive, 401(K) plan with employer contribution, health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
