Job description

Role Overview

Sodexo has an opening for a Director, Supply Management, to join our team. This role is responsible for the management of purchasing contracts in the protein category. The ideal candidate should possess: a supply management background, a broad-based knowledge of whole muscle and value-added meat products, negotiation skills, the ability to understand financial statements, data-based information systems, to communicate within all levels of the organization and an understanding of logistics. Food safety experience and a working knowledge of USDA IMPS is highly preferred.

This is a remote opportunity. Candidates should reside within the Eastern or Central time zone. 

What You'll Do

In the role, the Director will be responsible for: 

  • Budgeting and forecasting of category supply chain revenue, analysis of spend to identify opportunities within non-contracted areas and ensuring a strategic sourcing process is followed.
  • Participate in Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Pricing (RFP) events, including preparation of bids, evaluation of bid proposals, and pricing negotiations. 
  • Manage Supplier Agreements that deliver value including best price, service, quality and conditions, while also aligning to the organizational goals.  
  • Manage supplier relationships through quarterly business reviews to ensure compliance with supply agreement terms and conditions. 
  • Strategize on new opportunities that deliver value to the organization and support identified KPI's and performance metrics.
  • Promote procurement programs that support Sodexo's corporate initiatives including Supplier Diversity and "Better Tomorrow" sustainability goals.
  • Internal cross collaboration with culinary to ensure proper items contracted and available for system usage.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports in accordance with the objectives and goals mentioned above.

What You Bring

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience that provides knowledge and exposure to fundamental supply chain theories, principles and concepts
  • Experience with supply chain procurement contracts
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Understanding of contract terms, including but not limited to Insurance and Indemnification, termination clauses, audit provisions, and federal laws
  • Working knowledge of RFI and RFP processes, and scope of work generation to ensure an accurate bid response from qualified bidding parties
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture strong supplier relationships.
  • Strong management experience
  • Familiarity with distribution and logistics
  • Expert skill level with Excel Spreadsheets, Word and PowerPoint
