Responsibilities

This position offers the opportunity to work on bridge and transportation-related projects, while also gaining exposure to a broad range of structural engineering work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This role offers hands-on experience and direct mentorship from senior engineers, with the opportunity to see projects through from initial investigation and design to construction. Ideal for an engineer who is eager to learn, take on responsibility, and grow within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural engineering analysis and design for bridge and transportation-related structures
  • Primary duties will be related bridge structural design and inspection, but seeking versatile engineer with broad structural engineering interests
  • Serve as the lead designer on simple to moderately complex assignments
  • Assist in site investigations to document existing conditions, including bridge inspection
  • Perform site inspections for work engineered by our office
  • Complete and review design calculations; assist in the preparation of drawings and specifications
  • Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Coordinate work product with other in-house engineering staff and architects

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • 7-15 years of related experience
  • NY PE required, NJ PE is a plus
  • Bridge inspection experience and certification is a plus
  • Prior experience with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NJDOT standards is a plus
  • Understanding and application of code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • AutoCad experience a requirement, Revit is a plus
  • Interest in developing a well-rounded structural engineering skill set
