Job description

In Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, we are looking for a Strategic Buyer to join our Procurement team and manage the sourcing of direct materials related to chemicals, liquid products, raw materials and manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in developing supplier relationships, driving procurement strategies and ensuring the availability of critical materials across our operations.
What you will do:
  • Define and execute sourcing strategies for direct materials.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop strategic suppliers.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and contract management activities.
  • Drive cost reduction and supply chain optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and international Commodity Managers.
  • Ensure supply continuity, quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support global procurement projects across different Rheinmetall entities.

Location: On-site position in Madrid, Spain.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Strategic Purchasing, Procurement or Commodity Management.
  • Experience purchasing raw materials, chemicals, industrial products or direct materials.
  • Background in Automotive, FMCG, Chemical or Manufacturing industries is highly valued.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English (C1 level), as you will work with international suppliers and Commodity Managers across different Rheinmetall sites.
  • Availability for national and international travel.
