Responsibilities

The Director, Construction is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic execution, operational performance, and scalability of fiber construction initiatives across multiple markets. This leader will drive the successful delivery of large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, financial targets, and aggressive deployment timelines.

This role requires a highly accountable, solutions-oriented executive who can lead through complexity, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and build high-performing teams while delivering hundreds of concurrent projects with precision and speed.


Qualifications

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end execution of fiber construction projects, including dark fiber, FTTH, and network expansion initiatives, from planning through final delivery
  • Translate company growth strategy into scalable construction execution plans across multiple regions
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure consistent delivery

Operational Excellence & Accountability

  • Own full accountability for project timelines, budget adherence, and quality outcomes across all active construction programs
  • Drive a solutions-first culture, ensuring projects continue progressing regardless of obstacles or cross-functional dependencies
  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies to protect delivery timelines and financial performance

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Engineering, OSP, Operations, Finance, and Vendor Management to ensure seamless project execution
  • Serve as the executive point of accountability for construction-related updates, escalations, and performance reporting
  • Influence stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, resources, and delivery expectations

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, implement, and continuously refine construction workflows, tools, and reporting structures to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Leverage data analytics and reporting to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization
  • Drive standardization across markets to ensure consistency, speed, and cost control

Vendor & Financial Management

  • Oversee vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, SLAs, and quality standards
  • Maintain strict financial discipline, ensuring all projects are delivered on budget and accurately invoiced
  • Evaluate vendor partnerships and negotiate improvements to enhance performance and cost efficiency

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing teams, including construction managers and field leadership
  • Establish a culture of ownership, urgency, and accountability across all levels of the organization
  • Coach and develop leaders to ensure succession planning and organizational scalability
