Job description

Strategic Client Partner, AI & Technology

We're hiring a Strategic Client Partner, AI & Technology based in Melbourne or Sydney to develop enterprise relationships and close paid discovery engagements that can lead to customized software and implementation by HubLab and Labrynth.

You'll bring technical credibility earned through prior implementation experience, but this is not a hands-on engineering or solution-design role. Your job is to make complex technology clear to nontechnical buyers, stand up to scrutiny from CTOs and technical leaders, and give clients confidence in the team behind the work.

Most meaningful customer engagement happens in person. You'll travel frequently, manage several opportunities and active client relationships at once, and stay commercially accountable from the first serious conversation through close, handoff, expansion, and renewal. The work spans three modes:

  • Connect: build and deepen relationships through your network, partner introductions, events, and consistent in-person engagement.
  • Translate: explain AI, software, data, cloud, integrations, security, and delivery approaches in language that works for both business and technical audiences.
  • Close and grow: advance opportunities to a paid discovery, make a clean handoff to the technical team, and return to close implementation, expansion, and renewal opportunities.
What You'll Do
  • Develop new opportunities through networking, referrals, strategic partners, events, and trusted relationships across the Australian enterprise market.
  • Lead in-person sales conversations and manage complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities from qualified interest through a paid discovery close.
  • Explain Labrynth's technology and delivery model clearly to nontechnical decision-makers, and engage credibly when CTOs and technical leaders probe the approach.
  • Use your implementation experience to answer high-level questions and establish confidence without committing to unvalidated architecture, scope, effort, or delivery outcomes.
  • Bring HubLab and Labrynth technical leaders into the sales process when deeper validation is required, then provide the discovery and implementation teams with a clear, context-rich handoff.
  • Remain the commercial relationship owner across active engagements, maintaining trust and returning to close implementation, expansion, and renewal opportunities while keeping pipeline and forecasts current.
What We're Looking For
  • You have a demonstrated record of advancing and closing complex enterprise sales, with accountability for revenue or quota.
  • You bring meaningful prior hands-on experience in software engineering, technical consulting, solution architecture, implementation, or technical founding roles.
  • You can make AI and software understandable to nontechnical buyers while holding a credible conversation with CTOs, architects, security teams, and engineers.
  • You build trust naturally in person and are comfortable networking, presenting, negotiating, and asking for the business.
  • You understand consultative sales and can sell a paid discovery process without pretending the final solution has already been scoped.
  • You can navigate long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles involving business owners, operators, technology, security, procurement, and executives.
  • You know when to answer from experience, when to bring in a technical expert, and how to avoid overpromising.
  • You are conversant across modern software, AI systems, data, cloud infrastructure, integrations, security, and delivery risk; current hands-on expertise in every area is not expected.
  • You manage concurrent opportunities and client relationships with disciplined follow-through, pipeline management, and forecasting.
  • You stay close enough after the handoff to protect the relationship, identify expansion opportunities, and support renewals without taking over delivery.
  • You communicate with integrity, separating what is known, what is plausible, and what still requires paid discovery and technical validation.
Nice to Have
  • A career path that began in engineering, technical consulting, solution architecture, implementation leadership, or as a technical founder.
  • Experience selling paid discovery, customized software, AI transformation, professional services, or complex technology implementations.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as energy, infrastructure, government permitting, healthcare, or finance.
  • An established network among enterprise executives, technology leaders, strategic partners, or industry communities in Australia.
What We Offer
  • High-impact work at the intersection of AI and critical infrastructure regulation.
  • Meaningful ownership of enterprise relationships, revenue, and HubLab's growth across Australia.
  • Frequent access to senior business and technology leaders, with most customer engagement happening in person.
  • The backing of experienced HubLab and Labrynth discovery and implementation teams.
  • A senior individual-contributor role with room to help shape the technical sales motion.
  • Competitive base compensation with commission tied to closed business.
Values We Hire For
  • Character: Tell the truth, protect trust, and raise risks early, even when it's uncomfortable.
  • Competency: Know your craft, keep learning, and deliver work others can rely on.
  • Togetherness: Support the team, share context, and work through disagreement with respect.
  • Impact: Prioritize meaningful customer and business outcomes over activity or appearances.
  • Commitment: Own the outcome, follow through, and communicate early when something changes.
What's In It For You

Labrynth is committed to fair and competitive pay, ensuring that compensation reflects both market conditions and the value each team member brings. Our salary structure accounts for regional differences in cost of living while maintaining internal equity.

During the interview process, your Talent Acquisition Partner will confirm compensation tier applicable to your location. For candidates outside the U.S., compensation is aligned with local market conditions and cost of living.
