Job Summary:

This position is accountable for the retention of existing stop-loss accounts and growing new business where appropriate and profitable for the self-insured markets. This specialist position will focus on growing Client's book of business in addition to coordinating with our preferred stop loss vendors by acting as a liaison between sales, marketing, underwriting, preferred vendors, brokers and other key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates with sales and underwriting on all upcoming renewals and new business opportunities that will maximize the potential for account retention and initial premium and enrollment growth which a focus on profitability.

Plans and negotiates terms and conditions of contracts with existing accounts.

Compares and evaluates various products features and scenarios to make appropriate recommendations based on client needs assessment.

Develops and conducts workshops for clients/groups relative to marketplace trends, claim procedures, and health industry regulations.

Ensures that all clients and stakeholders are promptly informed of relevant legislative and regulatory issues and their associated impact.

Additional duties:

Sells new business to potential accounts, working towards sales goals while ensuring the sale of prudent and profitable business.

Develops prospective accounts and clients.

Informs and educates prospects on client products and services.

Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be proficient and possess advanced skills in the sale of or administration of stop loss products and demonstrate prior success in selling the product or capacity to attain.

Use of personal computers and supporting software in a Windows based environment, including MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Lotus Notes; should be knowledgeable in the use of intranet and internet applications.

Requires knowledge of Group Health products lines including Managed Care and Pharmacy.

Requires knowledge of rating and policy renewal practices.

Prefers knowledge of Client products, underwriting policies, enrollment, billing, and claims processing procedures.

Requires a bachelor's degree.

Experience:

Requires a valid NJ driver's license.

Requires a New Jersey State Health/Life License
