Senior Director, Product Management, Engineering 360

About the Team
Capital One is looking for an experienced product leader who can lead the Engineering 360 team. This team is optimizing Capital One's Card developer experience to automate everything but the creative. Creating tooling and best practices to both deliver code faster and, in the background, drive automation that ensures applications are well managed. You will own the strategy and execution of the vision for Capital One's Card Business; inspire and lead your team, users and adjacent teams; drive a continuous discovery process, optimizing for efficiency and quality. This leader will instill an outcome orientation and partner with product and technology leaders across the organization to deliver exceptional experiences for our developers. One of the most important aspects of the role is building and leading a world-class team to deliver on this journey.

As part of the horizontal engineering team (E360), you'll have access to:

  • Design the future of a system that ensures applications are well managed while optimizing developers' time towards application development.

  • Work with leaders across the company to find and take advantage of valuable shared services, allowing your team more time to focus on unique, high-value work

  • Delve into microservice and cloud-native architecture to decouple business strategy changes from underlying transaction processing logic, increasing speed to market and reducing risk

  • Drive accelerated continuous discovery process that optimizes on user adoption through outcome orientation and empowerment

  • Deliver value to the Card business and its customers by accelerating innovation and engineer enablement

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 9 years of experience working in Product Management

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer facing digital products

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $269,600 - $307,700 for Sr. Dir, Product Management


New York, NY: $294,100 - $335,700 for Sr. Dir, Product Management


Richmond, VA: $245,100 - $279,800 for Sr. Dir, Product Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
