ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary role of the SQL Developer is to design, build, test and prepare code to support integrations, scripted application configurations, and reporting as needed to support business needs.  This position covers a range of responsibilities such as support of day to day requests for new/updated reports, involvement in projects which drive changes or creation of new integrations between systems, develop and support new scripts within configurable systems, create data extractions as used for migrations or data analysis, troubleshooting issues that arise, testing and approval of new vendor builds, and support of smaller enterprise applications as may be assigned.  This person must also acquire a deep understanding of Cavco’s data and data sources in order to facilitate discussions and requirements gathering with business, vendor and technical team members.  As assigned, this person must acquire knowledge to setup, configure, secure and support smaller enterprise applications. This position reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Code Development: Write advanced functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers. Develop and maintain automation and administrative scripts (e.g., PowerShell, SQL jobs, Batch, or similar).
  • Data Integration: Build and support automated ETL pipelines using tools like SSIS, SSMS, sFTP, APIs.
  • Business Intelligence and Report Development: Design, build, test and prepare deployment of ad-hoc data extractions, scheduled reports, and operational dashboards using tools such as SSRS and Report Builder. Maintain and troubleshoot reports as needed to support business operations.
  • Collaboration: Meet with business,vendors and technical teams to gather data requirements and formatting needs to provide data integration and reporting solutions.
  • Configuration:  Perform day-to-day administration of assigned applications and configurations such as managing system customizations (user defined fields, calculations, constants, and application scripting).
  • Processing: Monitor daily SQL integrations, batch jobs, outputs for completeness and accuracy.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for implementation of features or enhancements to improve efficiencies
  • Support and Change Control:  Troubleshoot, research, and document reported issues.  Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and issue resolution.  Perform change management, incident management and request management activities following ITIL best practices, ensuring system availability, reliability and issue prevention.  Work with technical, vendor and business team members to obtain resolutions on critical issues.  Monitor application health, investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Upgrades and Customizations: Participate in testing new versions, customizations and upgrades; coordinate user-acceptance testing of these changes and obtain business approvals before release.
  • Data Subject Matter Expert: Become an expert on Cavco’s data, data sources, processing, application configurations, reporting and outputs.  Maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and operational procedures.
  • Compliance: Maintain documentation required by IT GRC, SOX, and Internal Audit department
  • May require occasional travel

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in SQL scripting (SSIS), Report Writing (SSRS), and application configurations and support.
  • Experience supporting enterprise ERP and/or CRM systems.
  • Ability to understand business and technical requirements and design a suitable solution
  • Ability to explain data and logic concepts to non-technical and technical audiences
  • Strong critical-thinking, application troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with Change Management, Incident Management and Request Management processes (ITIL knowledge preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and verbal) and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

COMPLEMENTARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deacom ERP experience a plus
  • Experience with other scripting languages such as PowerShell, Batch or VBScript.
  • Home manufacturing, retail sales, insurance or mortgage experience a plus
  • Data analytics experience a plus
  • Basic to advanced enterprise wide system architecture knowledge a plus.
