Job description

Koch Fertilizer Fort Dodge, LLC is seeking aFixed Equipment Reliability Engineer to join our team in Duncombe, IA.

Our Team

Koch Fertilizer is an entrepreneurial company pursuing a self-motivated individual to be a part of the reliability team driving collaboration and customer service to both internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to solve problems, be detail-oriented and well organized, and an effective communicator.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, operations, and other engineering disciplines to identify and address equipment-related challenges
  • Complete workorders and small projects that require engineering. This includes managing all phases of the workorder or project including project development, front-end engineering, detailed design, Management of Change and other safety reviews, construction, and commissioning.
  • Lead root cause analyses to identify the underlying causes of high impact equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to the site leadership team
  • Collect and analyze reliability metrics to identify bad actors
  • Develop and implement reliability programs to eliminate fixed equipment threats
  • Conduct fitness-for-service (FFS) and risk-based inspection (RBI) analysis to ensure equipment is operated in compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Support capital projects related to fixed equipment, including scope development, materials selection, engineering design review, and construction oversight
  • Serve on cross site tech teams to ensure Koch’s internal fixed equipment engineering practices are competitive and up to date with industry practices
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (any discipline)
    OR 5+ years of relevant reliability or industrial manufacturing experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Working knowledge of relevant fixed equipment codes and standards such as ASME, API, and NBIC
  • Relevant certifications such as API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580, or API 581 are desirable
  • Experience leveraging analytical tools such as Excel, Meridium, API RBI, PowerBI, SEEQ for data-driven decision-making
  • Experience with inspection techniques, NDE methods, and fitness-for-service assessments
