Job description
This role is on site, which means you would be required to work on site at the Best Buy location listed on the job posting. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll do
- Engineered Labor Standards: Ensure a fair and reasonable labor standard by performing time studies, analyzing results, and troubleshooting, when necessary. Summarize findings to Corp and DC leadership, provide process gaps and insights, and recommendations to solve.
- Educate & Coach: Train DC Operations "what is" and "how to leverage" engineered labor standards, including methods observations, providing feedback, incentive and accountability impacts, etc.
- Tools & Software: Maintain accuracy of DC layouts including XYZ coordinates via AutoCAD and WMS. Maintenance of ELS flowcharts and standard data via StandardsPro or other software solution. Time studies, work samples, and data captured via UMT plus.
- Capacity Planning: Analyze DC network capacity needs and provide recommendations collaborating with DC Operations teams. Utilize data-driven approaches to model facility operations, forecast capacity, and simulate process changes to provide innovative solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Observe and improve warehouse processes and workflows to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Provide recommendations to create or improve operational policies, procedures or systems.
- Reporting: Utilize reporting such as SCI, Red Prairie, and Power BI Dashboards to identify opportunities in direct labor performance and utilization. Work cross-functionally to improve DC Operations metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any Quantitative Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
- 4+ years in external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standards
- 2+ years of experience working with engineered labor standards and time study methods.
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools.
- 5+ years in external Supply Chain engineering roles involving process improvement, layout optimization, and/or engineered labor standards
- Advanced analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, etc.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, LMS/WMS, SQL, Time study software such as UMT Plus, StandardsPro, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proven track record developing and/or maintaining engineered labor standards with extensive experience conducting time studies in a distribution environment.
- Experience with warehouse automation (e.g., conveyors, AS/RS, robotics)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines
