Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

Travelers Insurance is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Director within our Cyber Risk Services job family. This role is responsible for influencing underwriting decisions, and contributing their expertise towards cybersecurity initiatives that strengthen our clients' Cyber insurance portfolio. As a Director, you will work with the team and skillfully apply your expertise for Cyber Risk Services within the business. You will ensure timely and professional responses to our policyholders, brokers and underwriters about our team's services via our customer service ticketing system and on phone calls. This role requires partnering and maintaining strong working relationships with key constituents (e.g., business units, underwriters, brokers and policyholders) while contributing to the team to drive solutions that mitigate risk.

What Will You Do?

  • Monitor and drive the direction of the team, overseeing the adoption of new Cyber Risk Services that meet policyholder needs.
  • Help define and execute the strategic roadmap for cyber risk services.
  • Conduct the most complex comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats for policyholders.
  • Build cross-department relationships with business, tech, underwriting, as well as externally with broker and vendors.
  • Oversee the team's responses to policyholder, broker or underwriter escalations.
  • Drive actionable recommendations to policyholders on how to mitigate identified highly complex cyber risks, including driving product development of risk prevention and recovery services.
  • Provide human resources management, including coaching, performance management, team development and growth, and workforce planning
  • Represent Travelers at industry events and thought leadership forums.
  • Partner with Underwriting and business leads. Provide direction and coaching for more complex projects.
  • Promote a deep understanding of the evolving cyber threat landscape, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques on the team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex
  • technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate advanced training sessions, presentations, and tabletop exercises.
  • 7+ years of experience in the insurance, legal or cyber industries.
  • If managing employees, must have previous management / leadership experience

  • Proven track record of effective problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Extensive knowledge of cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and what causes cyber attacks and claims.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed risk
  • assessments and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, in working cross-functionally with underwriters, brokers and policyholders.
  • If managing employees, must have experience directly or indirectly leading people
