Editage, the flagship brand ofย CACTUS, provides translation services to help ESL (English-as-a-second-language) researchers communicate their science to the global scientific community.

We are looking for translators to work on academic manuscripts written in Japanese/English. To qualify, you must have technical expertise in your field. Experience working in a foreign-language setting will be preferred. Essentially, your work will involve translating an academic research paper from Japanese/English to native English or vice versa.


Responsibilities

  • Accurately convey the meaning of the source text
  • Research legal, technical, and scientific phraseology to find the most appropriate terms
  • Produce a grammatically correct final version

Qualifications and Prerequisites

  • Applicants must meetย any oneย of the following criteria:
    1. A degree in Translation or an equivalent degree that includes significant translation training, from a recognized institution
    2. A graduate (or higher) degree in any other field from a recognized institution of higher education plus two years of comprehensive professional experience in translation
