Are you an experienced industrial mechanical leader who can run projects, direct crews, work with customers, and still step into the field when needed?

We are hiring a Superintendent / Project Manager for a permanent, plant-based position in the Allentown, PA area. This is not a traveling superintendent role where you are constantly being sent to different states. You will report to the same industrial facility each day and oversee mechanical projects, maintenance work, installations, shutdowns, and service needs at the plant.

This position offers a strong mix of project management, supervision, administrative work, and hands-on field involvement. You will spend most of your time planning and managing the work, but you must also be willing and able to assist in the field when the job requires it.

  • Communicating with plant personnel, customers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Monitoring project costs, progress, safety, and quality
  • Completing timesheets, purchase order requests, reports, and other project documentation
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, specifications, and mechanical drawings
  • Troubleshooting and assisting with the repair, maintenance, and installation of industrial machinery
  • Supporting shutdowns, emergency work, weekend projects, and overtime assignments
  • Maintaining an organized, safe, and productive work environment

RequirementsIndustrial Experience We Are Looking For

Qualified candidates should have experience with several of the following:

  • Industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Conveyors and material-handling systems
  • Bearings, shafts, drives, motors, and equipment alignment
  • Industrial piping and fluid-handling systems
  • Pipe fitting, threading, bending, and welding
  • Structural steel, platforms, mezzanines, and equipment supports
  • Ductwork fabrication and installation
  • Cutting, grinding, welding, and mechanical fabrication
  • Scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, and other industrial equipment
  • Rigging, crane signaling, and heavy equipment installation
  • GTAW, GMAW, or SMAW welding processes

The original position description also emphasizes mechanical troubleshooting, manufacturing-equipment installation, material procurement, crew mentoring, safe work practices, and the ability to manage projects while remaining involved in the field.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Industrial Superintendent, Mechanical Superintendent, Millwright Superintendent, Mechanical Foreman, or Industrial Project Manager
  • Strong industrial mechanical or millwright background
  • Ability to independently manage projects and direct field crews
  • Comfortable spending significant time completing administrative and computer-based responsibilities
  • Proficient with email, smartphones, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
  • Able to create material lists, coordinate equipment, and manage project documentation
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe industrial work practices
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to work at heights, in restricted spaces, and around operating industrial equipment
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, night shifts, and scheduled plant shutdowns as needed
  • Must live within a reasonable daily commute of Allentown or be willing to relocate

  • Holidays paid as holiday pay plus double time
  • Year-round, full-time employment

  • Communicates professionally with customers and plant leadership
  • Understands that industrial shutdowns and emergency work do not always happen during normal business hours
  • Wants a permanent location, strong hourly pay, and excellent overtime potential
