JOB SUMMARY:
Gain experience and exposure to practical engineering applications within the utility industry. Individual normally works under close supervision and will perform a variety of functions and work on various projects, working with engineers and engineering associates.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist Capital Projects Project Managers and Construction personnel in day-to-day activities, including but not limited to:
  • Coordination of various Substation and Transmission Line Construction projects in different areas of Entergy
  • Design of electric transmission and distribution facilities and perform various engineering technical reviews/studies using computer based systems.
  • Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Capital Projects.
  • Work is approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year around.
  • Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil engineering majors to work full time during the designated semesters.
    • Must be currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor's degree as indicated above, and enrolled in sophomore year or beyond.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Computer skills-- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have good communication and Customer Service skills.

Work Conditions:
Office and Field work. Some situations might require ability to work in adverse climate conditions and physical nature of work may require walking long distances in uneven off-road environments. Some travel may be necessary.
