Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Nursing, Director, Nursing/Infection Prevention, Director Senior Day Center, Director Quality, Safety & Regulatory and all Supervisors. This position supports and oversees activities on the unit related to patient belonging, patient laundry processes, dietary and kitchen services, including inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides support to Directors for routine and special projects.
  • Supports Supervisor work as assigned.
  • Updates census sheet and unit white boards with daily census and new admissions/discharges
  • Maintains name bands on patients and checks daily
  • Maintains names on patient rooms and checks daily
  • Prepares medical records for admission
  • Ensures face sheets have correct provider name daily
  • Ensures all orders and labs are signed by medical and nursing staff and appropriately filed in the medical record
  • Provides compiles discharge chart to Medical Records in timely manner, ensuring completeness of record
  • Maintains clinical records according to appropriate policies and procedures
  • Updates Meditech with admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Files lab data daily after it is signed by medical and nursing staff
  • Files clinical data in chart on a daily basis i.e. Basic Care Sheets and Q15 Minute Checks
  • Ensures correct provider on EMR as required
  • Maintains forms for unit as needed and ensures a sufficient quantity are available for all to use
  • Maintains Downtime File Box for each unit
  • Prints and copies worksheets for staff as directed
  • Copies and/or faxes paperwork as requested
  • Establishes and oversees processes for the following:
    • Identifying belongings upon admission and sharing with staff.
    • Receiving, labeling and storing clothing brought in during admission.
    • Obtaining patient belongings for discharge, including valuables
    • Processing any clothing left behind after discharge and sending to patient.
  • Work with National to ensure appropriate par- levels for supplies
  • Ensure supplies are organized and labeled
  • Ensures items are dated and contain patient names as appropriate
  • Ensures no staff items are stored with patient items.
  • All other duties as assigned

  • High School Graduate required
  • Previous experience in health care setting required with behavior health experience preferred.
