Job description

Job Description: As an effective Leasing Supervisor, you have a great eye for detail and excellent customer service skills. You will supervise the Leasing Specialists - train, mentor, review files before going to compliance, and resolve issues with files. You will also be responsible for working with tenants and applicants – assisting them with application completion and questions, preparing income profiles, and assisting with resolving issues with the property.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage daily leasing operations, including tenant file processing, intakes, submissions, and corrections.
  • Train and onboard leasing staff on processes, compliance, and customer service standards.
  • Coordinate with Leasing Compliance to ensure temporary staff meet file compliance requirements.
  • Assign, monitor, and support leasing team tasks to achieve property lease-up goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain organized applicant communication, file tracking systems, and a welcoming office environment.
  • Provide data-driven updates on lease-up progress to management and escalate applicant issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to fair housing laws and property-specific compliance requirements.
  • Performs other assignments as requested.
  • Meets with prospective tenants and provides tours of the units
  • Assists Community Manager and/or Leasing Director in entering pre-applications into waitlist software system
  • Initiates application background screening and approval process
  • Stores all relevant documentation into resident files
Position Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leasing or Recertification experience in affordable housing - REQUIRED
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Outlook and Excel; Yardi a plus
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through
  • Able to work independently, prioritize, meet multiple deadlines and work as a team member
  • Interest in real estate/property management and non-profit work
Education
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred and related work experience.
