The Unit Leader manages a team of Program Managers and Associate Program Managers, providing leadership, performance management, coaching, and development to support individual and organizational success

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Typically requires 5-7+ years of experience in insurance, captive management, program management, or related business operations
  • Demonstrated progression of responsibility and sustained performance in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, mentor, lead initiatives, or manage people
  • Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and leadership capability will be considered

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse group of team members
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and commitment to achieving results
  • Strong planning, prioritization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Unit Leader oversees a team of Program Managers and Associate Program Managers, supporting captive objectives, resolving escalated matters, driving operational excellence, and executing Program Management priorities.

  • Be visible and engaged with unit personnel while in and out of the office.
  • Balance captive escalations and personnel development to ensure service standards for the captive and personnel responsibilities are both maintained.
  • Support the Program Management directive as it relates to the roles and responsibilities of the Program Management team
  • Enforce compliance with recurring activities (i.e. premium reconciliation, collections, etc.)
  • Conduct regular individual and team meetings to communicate priorities, provide coaching, and support employee development
  • Gather performance feedback, provide coaching and mentorship, and lead performance management and career development activities
  • Support talent acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing training and development initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and a positive business culture while supporting Program Management strategic priorities
  • Partner with leadership to improve cross-functional processes, communication, and operational effectiveness
  • Assist with team and/or enterprise-wide projects

    TRAVEL: Domestic and International travel may be required. This includes compliance with all U.S., local country, and transportation carrier travel requirements.
