Clinical Quality & Resident Care
  • Provides overall leadership and oversight ofthe nursing departmentto ensure high-quality resident care
  • Accountable for clinical outcomes, including prevention and management of falls, pressure injuries, infections, and hospitalreadmissions
  • Ensures physicians and clinical providers conduct visits asrequiredand that care is deliveredin accordance withresident needs
  • Conducts regular rounds tomonitorresident care, staff performance, and overall environment of care
  • Oversees documentation practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of resident records
  • May provide direct care as needed
Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness
  • Maintains continuous survey readiness and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Leads survey preparation,participatesin surveys, and oversees implementation of plans of correction
  • Oversees incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actionsin accordance withregulatory requirements
  • Ensures compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and the compliance program
Quality Improvement & Infection Control
  • Leads QAPI and performance improvement initiativesfor the nursing departmentutilizingdata, metrics, and trends to drive decision-making and improve outcomes
  • Oversees infection prevention and control programs to ensure compliance and minimize risk. May be the center Infection Preventionist.
Workforce Leadership & Development
  • Develops, leads, andretainsa high-performing nursing team through effective hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Oversees staffing and scheduling to ensureappropriate coveragewhile managing labor costs, overtime, and agencyutilization
  • Ensures orientation, onboarding, ongoing training, and competency development of nursing personnel
  • Ensures maintenance of licensure and certification requirements for all nursing personnel, including CPR certification for all licensed nursing personnel
  • Ensures fair and consistent application of disciplinary processes and performance evaluations
Operations & Financial Management
  • Ensures necessary equipment, supplies, and staffing levels are available to support quality care delivery
  • Participates in budget development for the nursing department, medical,nursingand central supplies.
  • Manages nursing department operations within budget, including labor and supply expenses
Leadership, Collaboration & Culture
  • Partners with theExecutive Directorand interdisciplinary team to drive clinical, operational, and financial performance
  • Acts in anadministrativecapacity in the absence of the Executive Director
  • Collaborateswith internal and external partners to improve quality of care and operational outcomes
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and resident-centered care
  • Ensureshigh standardsof customer service for residents, families, and staff
  • Treats residents, families, visitors, and staff with courtesy and respect
Professional Responsibilities
  • Representsthe organization in professional, community, and marketing activities as appropriate
  • Attends andparticipatesin required meetings, committees, training, and organizational initiatives
  • May provide direct nursing care as needed and serve in an administrative capacity in the absence of theExecutive Director

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

The responsibilities of this position may involve significant travel and physical activities including standing, occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing,pullingand twisting.Lifting and/or transferring some residents will require use of a lifting deviceand/orassistancefromother staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active, unrestricted license in the state
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical practices
  • Current CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing
  • Demonstrated experience with survey readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing staffing, budgets, and operational performance
