Our Military Aircraft Group East Aurora is currently seeking a Director of Product Engineering & New Product Introduction (NPI) to lead the site in ensuring the integrity, producibility, and performance of products throughout their lifecycle, from concept development through full-rate production and ongoing operational support.

In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for driving Product Engineering and NPI strategies that enable successful product launches while maintaining the highest standards of quality, reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction in current production programs. You will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure products are designed, produced, and sustained for long-term success, partnering closely with Design Engineering, Fabrication, Assembly & Test, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management.


To be considered for the Director, Product Engineering & New Product Introduction role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:

  • Degree:Bachelor's in engineering or similar (Master's preferred).
  • Experience:10+ years in product engineering/NPI or similar in regulated, highreliability, or complex manufacturing; 5+ years managing engineering teams or managers.
  • Strong record of driving results, improving performance, and leading change in ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to set and execute strategic objectives across functions, sites, and divisions.
  • Budgeting and cost control experience.
  • Solid technical and business judgment to resolve complex product and production issues.
  • Clear communicator of technical/project information to customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Experience bringing products from R&D to production readiness.
  • Knowledge of product testing, validation, and production test systems.
  • Strong process leadership, relationship building, and crossfunctional influencing (often without direct authority).
  • Experience defining engineering requirements, specifications, and test strategies.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with strategic execution and strong problemsolving/decision skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Team leadership:Manage and develop the Product Engineering & NPI team; set goals, give feedback, and mentor talent.
  • Provide technical leadership for production programs to meet performance, quality, reliability, compliance, and customer needs.
  • Own product transitions from development production readiness stable, efficient manufacturing.
  • Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and others to ensure design for testability, manufacturability, and scalability.
  • Ensure processes, tooling, documentation, and training are in place for new and existing product lines.
  • Define requirements and specs for production assembly and test tools with Design/Test Engineering.
  • Create product support plans that follow engineering and quality standards and best practices.
  • Serve as Technical Approver/Authorizer for engineering changes and participate on the PNOE board to address product risks.
  • Promote a disciplined, resultsoriented engineering culture.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $180,000.00-$235,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
