Job description

 The Process Dev Engineering Scientific Associate will be part of a team that will support cell therapy media development team, including performing media optimization studies, as well as prepping media and characterizing media components. This role will contribute to the exploration and establishment of novel technologies to support cell therapy scale-up and optimization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform experiments and data analysis on media development and optimization 
  • Coordinate studies and new assays needed with analytical development
  • Utilizes fundamental understanding of molecular and cell biology to guide the experimental design and focuses on media development
  • Applies statistical principles and DoE approaches to guide process optimization 
  • Collaborates with team member, align on project goals and priorities, sharing results and participate in team discussions 
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative working environment and positive team culture 
  • Ensure data integrity by timely completion of phase-appropriate documentations, including experiment recording in electronic notebook system, develop protocols, and author reports to support future technology transfer and regulatory filings
  • Ensure compliance on lab safety procedures
  • Occasional weekend work required

 

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 0-3 years of experience. Master’s degree with 0-1 years of experience.  
  • Process development experience in a bio-pharmaceutical setting working with interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
  • Experience in aseptic processing and cell culture.
  • Experience with bioreactor systems
  • Ability to effectively communicate findings, progress, and problems.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to details.

Contract Length: 6 months with the chance to extend.
