Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to lead and expand our FAA portfolio-driving high-impact growth across the federal civilian market. This role is based in the Washington, DC Metro area and requires travel as needed for customer engagements and industry events.

Reporting to the CGO, this leader will serve as a key member of the enterprise growth team, collaborating closely with operational and functional leaders across the organization. The successful candidate will develop deep insight into customer needs, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics, translating that knowledge into actionable growth strategies and winning business cases aligned with Peraton's core capabilities and differentiators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, qualification, and development of strategic opportunities aligned with corporate growth campaigns, driving measurable revenue growth
  • Achieve acquisition and sales objectives through new business wins, recompetes, teaming strategies, and organic program expansion
  • Develop and maintain a robust strategic growth plan and pipeline aligned with corporate priorities
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers for assigned opportunities, building strong, trusted relationships
  • Shape customer requirements and acquisition strategies to position the company for success
  • Identify and pursue new markets, adjacencies, and strategic partnerships
  • Apply the Peraton Business Acquisition Process to effectively manage and communicate opportunity status and strategies
  • Collaborate with technical and program teams to support early-stage opportunities, including RFIs, market research, white papers, presentations, and demonstrations
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 16 years of professional experience, including at least 7 years in business development or capture supporting FAA or other federal civilian agencies (experience may substitute for education)
  • Demonstrated success in winning single-award contracts valued at $50M+
  • Experience building and managing opportunity pipelines and captures exceeding $100M
  • Strong understanding of federal customer missions, priorities, and procurement processes
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with government stakeholders and strategic teaming partners (prime and subcontractors)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to operate independently and drive results
  • High energy, integrity, strong business acumen, and professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Target Salary Range$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
