Inside the Role

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer I - Advanced Manufacturing & AI supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced manufacturing technologies that improve safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across manufacturing operations.
This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Controls Engineering, IT, and Operations teams to support Industry 4.0 initiatives, including machine vision systems, industrial automation, Industrial IoT (IIoT), AI-enabled manufacturing solutions, manufacturing control systems, and data analytics platforms.
The Manufacturing Systems Engineer I will assist in the deployment of manufacturing technologies, data collection systems, and analytics solutions while developing technical expertise in automation, AI, digital manufacturing, and manufacturing systems integration.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for engineers interested in advanced manufacturing technologies, data analytics, machine vision, automation, and digital transformation within a modern manufacturing environment.

Position offers a starting salary range of $71,000.00 - $91,000.00 USD

What You Drive at DTNASupport Advanced Manufacturing Technology Initiatives
  • Support the implementation, testing, and maintenance of advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Assist with deployment and support of machine vision systems, industrial cameras, smart sensors, and automated inspection equipment.
  • Support integration of manufacturing systems with production equipment, Manufacturing Control Systems (MCS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and other manufacturing technologies.
  • Participate in automation projects including robotics, smart manufacturing equipment, and connected factory solutions.
Support Data Analytics and Digital Manufacturing
  • Assist in collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing manufacturing data to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to manufacturing stakeholders.
  • Support the development of data analytics solutions used to improve quality, productivity, downtime reduction, and process performance.
  • Assist with database management, data integration, and data quality activities.
Support AI and Industry 4.0 Solutions
  • Assist with implementation and support of AI-enabled manufacturing solutions, predictive analytics tools, and computer vision applications.
  • Support Industrial IoT (IIoT) initiatives involving data acquisition, machine connectivity, and manufacturing system integration.
  • Participate in evaluation and testing of new technologies that improve manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to manufacturing software, automation systems, and connected devices.
Project and Cross-Functional Support
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT, and Controls teams to gather requirements and support manufacturing technology projects.
  • Participate in pilot programs, process improvement initiatives, and technology deployments.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, technical solutions, and lessons learned.
  • Support project tracking, testing activities, training efforts, and deployment activities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes through automation, analytics, and technology solutions.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities related to manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Stay current on emerging manufacturing technologies, AI applications, automation trends, and Industry 4.0 best practices.

Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical field, and 0-2 years of experience, is required.
