Job description

Activity Director Position

Gracy Woods II Living Center is seeking a highly motivated and personable Activity Director to enrich the lives of our resident's quality of life. The candidate should have the following characteristics and or experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly newsletter for distribution to all residents and families.
  • Develop and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.
  • Meets and greets each person upon move-in to welcome them and their family and friends to the facility.
  • Arranges for community groups to come into the Facility such as pet therapy, schools, churches and entertainers.
  • Decorates the common areas for special events and holidays.
  • Conducts individual and group interactions.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and manages budget.
  • Attends weekly Care Plan Meetings
  • Documents on Resident participation
  • Job Requirements:
  • Certification as required by State regulations for activities.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for working with the elderly.
  • Experience working with seniors. Ability to work flexible days between the hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm and weekends on occasion.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
  • Computer experience and ability to-use or learn to use software programs.
  • MDS experience preferred but not required.
