Position Summary
The Sports Club Attendant is a key member-facing position responsible for delivering exceptional service, safety, and hospitality throughout the Sports Club, including the fitness center, lap lane pool, outdoor pool deck, locker rooms, and wellness facilities.
This position ensures members and guests enjoy a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming environment while supporting daily operations, member engagement, facility readiness, and service excellence. The Sports Club Attendant serves as a visible ambassador of the Club and is committed to delivering personalized service consistent with the luxury standards of Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with members, guests, and colleagues.
Training & Experience
  • Previous experience in fitness, recreation, pool operations, hospitality, country club, resort, or customer service environments preferred.
  • Experience working in a member-focused or guest service environment preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment operation and pool safety practices preferred.
Job Knowledge
  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Basic understanding of fitness equipment and exercise facility operations.
  • Knowledge of pool safety practices and recreational facility standards preferred.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness, organization, and facility presentation standards.

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Maintain professional appearance, grooming, and personal hygiene standards.
  2. Provide proactive member assistance throughout the fitness center, pool deck, locker rooms, and wellness facilities.
  3. Welcome members and guests while delivering exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
  4. Conduct fitness equipment orientations and provide basic equipment instruction as appropriate.
  5. Monitor fitness areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment usage.
  6. Oversee lap lane pool and outdoor pool deck activities to promote a safe and enjoyable member experience.
  7. Assist with swimmer safety awareness and lane management procedures.
  8. Maintain pool deck presentation, including lounge chair setup, organization, and cleanliness.
  9. Distribute, collect, restock, and maintain towel inventories throughout all Sports Club facilities.
  10. Maintain locker room standards including stocking towels, amenities, and supplies.
  11. Ensure locker rooms remain clean, organized, and member-ready throughout operating hours.
  12. Provide water service, refreshments, and other member amenities as directed.
  13. Assist members with questions regarding Sports Club facilities, services, and programs.
  14. Monitor facility conditions and promptly report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns.
  15. Assist with equipment setup, cleanup, organization, and resets as needed.
  16. Support Sports Club events, wellness programs, recreation activities, and member engagement initiatives.
  17. Maintain high visibility throughout assigned areas and proactively engage members.
  18. Follow all safety policies, emergency procedures, and risk management practices.
  19. Attend departmental meetings, training sessions, and safety meetings as required.
  20. Follow all company policies, procedures, and departmental operating standards.
  21. Execute responsibilities that support Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond, and luxury hospitality service standards.
  22. Perform additional duties as assigned by Sports Club leadership.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout the Sports Club, pool areas, and wellness facilities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform light cleaning, equipment handling, and facility setup tasks.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
