Job Description

The Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) organization, within the Immunology Business Unit, leads the development of the commercial strategy for key assets in AbbVie's pipeline. The role of Associate Director, Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy (PCS) is to partner with the Director, Immunology Pipeline Forecasting in the planning, execution, and delivery of forecasting and commercial analytics work in support of AbbVie's pipeline. The key responsibility of this role is to develop commercial forecasts in support of strategic decisions related to the pipeline and lifecycle projects, as well as AbbVie's ongoing financial processes. This role will also serve as a point of contract for commercial analytics support related to Pipeline Commercialization& Strategy (PCS) strategic initiatives.

The Associate Director, Pipeline Forecasting, is responsible for developing commercial forecasts specific to pipeline compounds and on-market product lifecycle projects. In addition, he/she is responsible for coordinating and/or leading the forecasting/commercial analytics aspects of any strategic initiatives associated with commercial development.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Integrate with PCS Directors to provide a data driven point of view on the value of the assets in the therapeutic areas. Lead and coordinate the forecasting efforts relevant to the specific therapeutic areas.  
  • Plan relevant market insights work to support forecasting insights in conjunction with the marketing analytics group.
  • Develop and maintain forecast models to inform long-range planning, milestone decisions, strategic decisions, and business development opportunities.
  • Lead the design and implementation of model updates and/or new forecast approaches.
  • Provide real-time decision support via close coordination and collaboration across multiple stakeholders within PCS and other AbbVie partners including US Commercial & Finance, R&D, Decision Sciences, Marketing Analytics & Business Insights (APEX), HEOR, Global Epidemiology, Global and US Market Access and Pricing, Finance, Regulatory, Medical, Global Marketing & Commercial Operations, and Area & Affiliate Commercial organizations.
  • Champion the PCS Mission and Vision and the broader AbbVie Leadership Attributes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
    • MBA or advanced STEM degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant forecasting, market analytics, or finance experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences consulting industries.
  • Experience in providing marketing analytics and forecasting analyses for specialized therapeutic areas
  • Experience building forecast models and conducting analyses for decision support
  • Demonstrated experience in the incorporation and communication of analytics (primary and secondary data) for strategic decision support.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision making in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments.
  • Self-motivated and experience managing multiple projects across multiple teams while delivering results on-time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel experience.
