Terminal Manager | Transportation & Trucking Operations | Direct Hire | $65K-$85K
Location: Delaware City, DE
Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 annually

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to oversee the daily operations of a transportation terminal. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations while driving employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in trucking and transportation operations, with proven experience managing terminal activities, drivers, equipment, safety programs, and operational performance. Candidates without direct transportation industry experience are unlikely to be successful as a Terminal Manager with this company.
Required Qualifications for Terminal Manager Candidates
  • Proven experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or terminal operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and transportation operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience managing drivers, equipment, and day-to-day terminal operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make sound operational decisions.
  • Multi-location or multi-terminal management experience.
  • Experience leading safety and compliance programs.
  • Strong background in fleet, dispatch, or transportation operations management.
Terminal Manager’s Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all terminal operations, property, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of terminal employees.
  • Manage terminal safety initiatives and facilitate regular safety meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, and operational partners.
  • Supervise preventative maintenance programs and equipment management activities.
  • Monitor driver hours of service and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Establish operational goals, evaluate performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding routes, rates, customer needs, payroll accuracy, and repair activities.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and results.
