QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED

  • Education: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Required; Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred; Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development Preferred; other related degrees will be considered that include 18 credits in ECE
  • Certification: DPI certification in ECE, ECEEN, or related field desirable
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in early care education setting with preschool teaching experience; experience with low-income families
  • Professional Competencies: Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, alignment with agency mission, supervisory capabilities
  • Additional Requirements: Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with adequate insurance

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Site Director, you'll lead comprehensive programming by:

  • Providing site leadership to create safe, nurturing environments that encourage children's holistic development
  • Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children in low-income, at-risk environments
  • Ensuring delivery of quality, comprehensive services including education, health, nutrition, and family support
  • Providing supervision and performance feedback for reporting staff
  • Following Head Start Performance Standards, Reach Dane policies, and accreditation criteria
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents, children, staff, and community partners
  • Managing site operations and ensuring compliance with licensing and program standards
  • Supporting parent involvement and connecting families with necessary resources and referrals
