SummaryVarex Imaging is seeking a forward-thinking Industrial Modality Director to drive the strategic positioning, solution development, and go-to-market execution for our Indsutrial imaging portfolio. Collaboration is fundamental to this role, requiring close partnership with cross-functional teams-including General Managers, and the VP Industrial Sales-to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and delivery of customer-driven solutions. This leader will play a pivotal role in launching and scaling new Industrial X-ray products and solutions -including imaging bundles, photon counting detectors, and microfocus X-ray sources-while ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and strong internal synergy across key business stakeholders.Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the marketing and solution strategy for new Industrial product launches, including X-ray component bundles, photon counting technologies and microfocus X-ray sources
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market analysis utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. Identify emerging trends, customer needs, competitor strategies, and market opportunities to inform portfolio direction.
  • Solution Development: Spearhead the creation and development of innovative Industrial imaging solutions including X-ray component bundles, photon counting technologies and microfocus X-ray sources, ensuring they meet market demands and are ahead of industry trends.
  • Product Requirement Definition: Gather and analyze customer feedback, market data, and technology advancements to define clear, actionable product requirements for new Industrial offerings.
  • Value Proposition Development: Craft and refine unique value propositions for new Industrial products and solutions, highlighting their competitive advantages and aligning them with the needs and expectations of the target customer segments.
  • Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Definition: Define and execute the Industrial solution roadmap in alignment with Varex's strategic initiatives and in close collaboration with the business units. Establish multi-year product roadmaps, prioritizing features and innovations based on market analysis, business value, and customer impact.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, operations, and sales to ensure readiness for product launches and to support lifecycle management.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as the voice of the customer, engaging with OEMs and key accounts to validate product-market fit and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Marketing Execution: Develop compelling value propositions, launch plans, and sales enablement tools to support global campaigns and regional rollouts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial imaging, preferably in non-destructive testing X-ray technologies.
  • Proven track record in product marketing, solution development, or strategic marketing roles.
  • Strong understanding of X-ray system architecture, OEM dynamics, end-user applications and imaging trends.
  • Experience with new product introductions and cross-functional launch planning.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
