How you'll contribute
A Senior Director of Business Development who excels in this role:

  • Implements and directs the hospital's business development processes.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the identification of and outreach to potential patient referral sources.
  • Maintains positive, ongoing relationships with identified referral sources.
  • Monitors community trends to identify needs for new services and programs.
  • Develops and analyzes metrics to assess the effectiveness of business development strategies.
  • Conducts ongoing market and competitor analyses.
  • Hires, trains, and oversees hospital business development representatives.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Business Development.
  • Develops the hospital's comprehensive business development plan in collaboration with the CEO and senior hospital leadership.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops business development personnel, establishing accountability measures to assess performance and activity levels.
  • Develops referral source target categories and prioritization strategies; utilizes 360-degree feedback and other methods to evaluate referral source relationships.
  • Identifies key performance metrics and creates reports that analyze and communicate the effectiveness of business development efforts.
  • Takes an active role in defining the hospital's market area, assessing community needs for specific programs and services, and monitoring market competition.
  • Develops the annual business development budget and establishes processes to measure the effectiveness of marketing expenditures.
  • Develops and implements community workshops and seminars, as appropriate.
  • Collaborates closely with the Care Coordination Department on data collection, referral source tracking and follow-up, call quality, and outcome assessments.
  • Ensures marketing materials and collateral effectively communicate key messages and meet quality standards.
  • Conducts weekly audits for designated hospitals, including referral source reviews, Salesforce activity audits, month-end report reviews, and quarterly business development plan evaluations.
  • Identifies trends and growth opportunities within targeted markets.
  • Provides on-site training and support to newly hired Directors of Business Development, including travel as required.
  • Supports new site development initiatives as directed by the Vice President of Business Development.
  • Conducts targeted outreach to ID sites as directed by the Vice President of Business Development, including travel as required.


What we're looking for

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration or related field.


Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own auto.
  • Must show proof of automobile insurance.
     

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in health care business development required. 
  • A knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is preferred.
  • Must currently be employed as a Director of Business Development at a Springstone location. 
  • Must have demonstrated success in current role and ability to effectively communicate across disciplines.
