Job description

PRODUCTION MANAGER

The Opportunity:
Hellenic Cables, a subsidiary of Cenergy Holdings with more than 70 years of manufacturing excellence, is expanding its global footprint with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Baltimore, Maryland. This advanced operation will produce highly engineered underground power and telecommunications cable products to support growing global infrastructure and energy demand.
As part of this exciting growth, we are seeking a Production Manager to help lead manufacturing operations and support the successful launch and long-term performance of the facility. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing global organization and play a critical leadership role in building a high-performing production culture focused on safety, quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within a highly automated wire and cable manufacturing environment.
Role Overview:
The Production Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational objectives are consistently achieved for one of three main operational processes. Reporting to the Senior Operations Director, this role oversees production planning, workforce management, process optimization, and cross-functional coordination to drive efficient and reliable plant performance.
This position plays a key role in supporting extrusion, stranding, jacketing, and other cable manufacturing processes while ensuring adherence to customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. The Production Manager will help establish best-in-class manufacturing practices and drive operational performance across the facility.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are achieved
  • Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize manufacturing efficiency and throughput
  • Oversee cable manufacturing processes including extrusion, stranding, jacketing, and related production activities
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics teams to support efficient plant operations and customer delivery commitments
  • Monitor production performance, downtime, scrap, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity enhancement
  • Ensure all products meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and industry requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, operators, and production staff to build a high-performing and engaged workforce
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture through training, audits, compliance, and accountability
  • Support inventory management and material planning activities to ensure operational continuity and minimize production disruptions
  • Manage production-related projects, including process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, labor utilization, and operational costs
  • Support the implementation and optimization of ERP and manufacturing systems to improve operational visibility and efficiency
  • Contribute to long-term operational strategies and plant performance objectives aligned with business goals

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience within an industrial environment required
  • Prior experience within the wire and cable manufacturing industry strongly preferred
  • Experience in continuous manufacturing environments such as cable manufacturing, aluminum or copper wire production, metallurgical processing, extrusion operations, compound/elastomer manufacturing, plastics, or other highly automated industrial production environments preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing setting
  • Experience with cable manufacturing processes, continuous production environments, or heavy industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with production planning, scheduling, KPI management, and operational performance improvement
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and process optimization principles
  • Understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, and manufacturing best practices
  • Experience monitoring and improving OEE, scrap reduction, throughput, and production efficiency metrics
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Experience managing budgets, labor performance, and production costs
  • Ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, accountability, and operational excellence
  • Ability to adapt to changing production demands, technologies, and business needs

SALARY PAY RANGE: $125,000 - $180,000 plus bonus
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience. Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following date of hire, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
