Branch Operations Manager

Location: Brentwood, Tennessee

About Us:

We are looking for a Branch Operations Manager with Visterra Landscape Group, a growing company ranking among the top 50 largest landscaping companies in the United States. We deliver premier commercial landscaping services, focused on maintenance, enhancement, and critical winter services with a reputation for excellence in client service.

With incumbent partner company leaders guiding day-to-day operations in their markets, Visterra is focused on continued geographic expansion to build a national platform with a team that prioritizes employee well-being, safety, and career growth opportunities.

Pay:

Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview:

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of all field and administrative tasks required to support efficient operations within the branch. This role involves hiring, training, and evaluating staff, ensuring job quality and safety, and driving successful production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor job costs and conduct production reviews with Operations Managers.
  • Create monthly WIP reports and ensure accurate reporting with Operations Managers.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation and manage the branch to meet budget.
  • Maximize production efficiencies by controlling direct costs and unbillable labor to budget.
  • Spend 75% of the day in the field with crews to evaluate and improve work standards.
  • Lead pre- and post-job meetings with Operations Managers and Field Staff.
  • Implement safety training and maintain safe workplace practices.
  • Coordinate snow operations and ensure efficient transition between seasons.
  • Generate purchase orders/requests for departmental needs as authorized by the Branch Manager.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork related to the position.

Requirements:

  • 3 years or more experience in direct supervisory experience in ground maintenance.
  • Strong history of sales and account management performance.
  • Familiarity with landscape horticulture and plant materials.
  • Ability to complete first aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses.
  • Valid driver’s license required for the position.
  • Relevant pesticide licenses and certificates as required by state law.
  • Ability to inspire and develop branch staff.
  • Experience in cultivating long-term relationships with clients.
  • GED or high school diploma equivalent required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
