What is the opportunity?

This position provides strategic and tactical direction and support for the Operations departments of Management Reporting, Financial Reporting & Budgeting, Employee Engagement & Communications, and Service Strategy & Solution Services to ensure overall performance meets or exceeds the established industry and company standards for service, innovation and professionalism. This position requires a thorough understanding of RBC US Wealth Management's strategic priorities, competitive advantages, and positioning within the industry to ensure optimal alignment of the departments' plans and priorities with those of the firm. This position interacts extensively with various business lines as well as the functional units within the firm, providing process and service support to both internal and external customers. The individual in this position is expected to be a knowledgeable senior level liaison for both Operations and RBC. Incumbent must understand regulatory and organizational risks associated with work processes, how work is processed from beginning to end, and dependencies to other areas and departments.

What will you do?

  • Department Management & Oversight - Lead and manage teams to meet industry standards, oversee complex processes, provide training and succession planning, monitor process effectiveness, ensure quality consistency, and serve as the escalation point for unresolved issues.
  • Stakeholder Relations - Act as senior Operations contact to business lines and functional units; establish and maintain relationships with clients, business lines, and external vendors.
  • Financial Management & Reporting - Oversee performance reporting to senior leadership, coordinate department budgets and financial forecasts, monitor spending, and provide variance analysis and strategic financial insights.
  • Communications & Employee Engagement - Communicate RBC's vision and organizational messaging, manage stakeholder communications, solicit customer feedback, foster positive workplace culture, and develop presentations for senior leadership.
  • Service Strategy & Quality Management - Define service delivery standards, manage service quality and customer satisfaction, direct solution development, and analyze processes to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Industry & Regulatory Awareness - Stay informed about industry regulations, trends, and emerging technologies relevant to operations.
  • Strategic Leadership & Advisory - Serve as senior advisor for cross-departmental decision-making, develop and execute business plans aligned with firm strategy, and represent Operations on cross-functional projects and committees.
  • Compliance & Change Management - Ensure adherence to firm and regulatory policies, and support employees through organizational transitions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent OR High school diploma or equivalent AND 7+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience
  • 7+ years prior securities, banking, technology industry and/or job specific related experience
  • Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days)
  • 5+ years demonstrated and sound experience leading and managing a team

Nice-to-have

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in business, finance or related field
  • 10+ years credit operations, project management, vendor management, analysis, and/or risk control experience

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $230,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
