System Director of Facilities - (Enterprise Operations)

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an accomplished System Director of Facilities to provide enterprise-wide leadership for the 24-hour operations supporting healthcare, research, education, and business across a complex and growing system. This high-impact role provides strategic and operational leadership across the Nebraska Medicine main campus, Bellevue Hospital, clinics and other off-site locations, as well as facilities supporting UNMC, skilled trades and licensed trade services, and Biomedical Engineering. The scope encompasses facilities operations and maintenance, utilities, infrastructure, life safety, capital projects, strategic planning, budgets, regulatory readiness, and performance improvement.

We're looking for a proven leader who has successfully managed medium-to-large-scale, complex operations and understands how to bring people, infrastructure, resources, and strategy together across a highly interconnected environment. The System Facilities Director is responsible for 24-hour operation, management, and leadership for the combined enterprise's healthcare, research, and education facilities teams and all satellite locations. In addition, the incumbent will provide assistance, as needed, with construction and project management services for the before mentioned buildings, as well as participate in performance improvement projects at the discretion of administration. The duties shall include but are not limited to providing direct management support to facilities operations & maintenance to meet current and proactive strategic goals of the facilities. The incumbent will serve as main point of contact for department as needed. Operations and maintenance include all HVAC, electrical, grounds, life safety systems, plumbing, and lighting. The Director will maintain and support all Facilities Operations for all CMS, Joint Commission accreditation, and State agencies. The Director will lead, manage and maintain a safe environment for all patients, students, staff, visitors as well as the general public.

Required Qualifications: System Director of Facilities

-Eight years of experience in facilities operations or similar experience required.

-Five years' leadership experience required.

-Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Technology or related field required.

-Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint required.

-Ability to effectively plan, delegate, motivate, coordinate, manage, direct, mentor, communicate and interact with people to create a dedicated team required.

-Proficiency of technical, maintenance, repair, and operating aspects of building systems to include fire protection, plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning, lighting, building automation control, pneumatic control, air distribution, boilers and construction required.

-Ability to develop and manage annual budget and estimate work required.

-Aptitude for collecting, analyzing and utilizing data for decision-making required.

-Ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical information required.

-Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CFHM) certification required within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: System Director of Facilities

-Master's degree in engineering or business administration preferred.

-Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Access or other database tools, Archibus, Lawson, and Strata preferred.
