Job Summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking a Director of Quality. The Director of Quality will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the company's quality program, ensuring consistent quality standards, compliance, and continuous improvement across all departments and projects. This role partners with operations and executive leadership to drive accountability, improve performance, establish quality expectations, and promote a culture of excellence throughout the organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader who can build alignment, improve processes, and strengthen quality performance company-wide.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and strengthen quality standards across business units and project sites.
  • Establish quality standards and drive consistent execution throughout the organization.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and applicable codes.
  • Partner with operations and leadership teams to improve quality performance and reduce risk.
  • Lead audit activities and oversee corrective action efforts.
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive improvements based on performance trends.
  • Support client relationships by ensuring quality expectations are met and maintained.
  • Develop and mentor quality team members while building organizational capabilities.
  • Manage departmental goals, resources, and budgets.
  • Support company values and contribute to the achievement of strategic business objectives.
Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience leading quality programs within construction, industrial, manufacturing, EPC, energy, or heavy industrial environments.
  • 10+ years leading quality teams and developing quality strategy.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, auditing, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing customer, regulatory, and third‑party compliance requirements.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence operational leaders.
  • Ability to travel to project sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related field. (preferred)
  • ASQ certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE, CQA) (preferred)
  • ISO 9001 implementation or auditing experience. (preferred)
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience. (preferred)
  • Experience supporting large‑scale industrial or construction projects. (preferred)

Work Environment

Conditions include working in office, shop, jobsites, busy traffic areas, and warehouses. Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property. Must be able to effectively use any required PPE equipment.

The employee may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift, carry, pull, grasp, sit or bend over for extended periods. The employee must be able to lift, carry and move up to 30 pounds as needed. Employees in this position must be able to walk around indoor and outdoor job sites with distances up to ten miles on uneven, paved, gravel, dirt or sandy surfaces.
