American Structurepoint is seeking a Director of People Operations to lead our People Partner function and serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of People Operations and Development, this role is responsible for leading a team of HR professionals, driving consistent and effective people practices, and partnering with leaders to support organizational growth and business performance.

This Director will serve as the organization's senior employee relations expert and provides strategic and operational leadership across employee relations, compliance, onboarding, immigration support, workforce planning, and HR business partnership. This individual will work closely with leaders across all levels to address complex people challenges, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure consistent execution of people strategies across the business.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in a growing organization, develops high-performing teams, and brings sound judgment to complex employee and organizational matters.

ResponsibilitiesLeadership
  • Lead the People Partner function and provide direction, coaching, and development to the HR team.
  • Manage, develop, and ensure consistent support for the People Partner team.
  • Establish clear expectations, standards, and operating rhythms that drive accountability and consistency across the team.
  • Foster a proactive, business-focused HR function that delivers high-quality support to leaders and employees.
Strategic Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on organizational, leadership, workforce, and employee matters.
  • Partner with leaders to identify organizational challenges and develop practical people solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of People Operations and Development on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Support business growth through thoughtful organizational design, talent planning, and change management efforts.
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Serve as the senior employee relations authority for the organization.
  • Lead complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure consistent and legally compliant handling of employee matters across the organization.
  • Partner with legal counsel and organizational leaders as needed on sensitive or high-risk situations.
  • Oversee compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states.
Operations & Process Improvement
  • Provide oversight for onboarding processes, employment documentation, I-9 administration, orientation programs, and immigration support activities.
  • Evaluate and improve HR processes to increase efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and enhance service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and streamlined workflows to improve team effectiveness and employee experience.
  • Establish scalable processes that support organizational growth while maintaining a high level of service.
Talent & Leadership Support
  • Partner with the VP of People Operations to support succession planning and workforce planning efforts.
  • Assist leaders in identifying, developing, and retaining high-performing talent.
  • Contribute insights and recommendations that strengthen leadership capability and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support the implementation and execution of talent management initiatives across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading HR Business Partners, HR Generalists, or similar HR teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Experience supporting leaders in a multi-state employment environment.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders on workforce, organizational, and talent-related challenges.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience within a professional services environment.
  • Experience working in both large, structured organizations and smaller or mid-sized growing organizations.
  • Experience leading teams through organizational growth and change.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification.
