Director of Engineering USA – 77060
PURPOSE OF JOB
The Director of Engineering is a hands-on leader responsible for designing, pricing, and executing complex logistics solutions for oversized, high-value, and project-based cargo. Activities involve working with the owners and operators of heavy lift vessels, cranes, road transportation equipment and aircraft across a multitude of market sectors.
MAIN TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
  • Client drawing reviews
  • Production of documents (RAMS / transport manuals / risk assessments / engineering reviews)
  • CAD drawing and design work / lifting drawings / transport drawings / stowage plans etc.
  • Project planning
  • Assisting with onsite loading activities (USA & International)
  • Travel is a key part of the role, both in country and internationally when required.
  • Other duties as necessary
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred) or high-level college certificate.
  • Details of work experience
  • Any safety qualification is a bonus
  • To be able to handle sub-contractors on site managing client expectations
  • Supervise multimodal operations
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCad LT and Vi-deck (Vessel securing analysis program)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision yet able to judge when advice and support is required
