Job description

Network Health's success is rooted in its mission to create healthy and strong Wisconsin communities. Network Health is seeking a Director of Security. This role is responsible for developing, leading, and managing all aspects of corporate physical security, workplace safety, executive protection and facilities management across the organization's locations. This role ensures the safety of employees, visitors, executives, facilities, and assets through proactive planning, risk mitigation, emergency preparedness, and security operations management. Additionally the person in this role will be responsible for managing Network Health's facilities, including safety, cleanliness, use, and space use.
Location: Candidates must reside in the state of Wisconsin for consideration. This position is eligible to work on-site at our corporate offices in Menasha or Brookfield.
Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and justify departmental expense and staffing budget to meet the strategic needs of the organization.
  • Monitor approved budget monthly and takes appropriate actions to identify and correct unfavorable variances that can be corrected.
  • Security:
  • Develop and implement company-wide physical security and executive protection strategies, policies, and procedures, advising on best practices and recommended programs to advance the security and safety of NH.
  • Develop and maintain site security protocols for employees, contractors, and guests.
  • Serve as the lead coordinator for executive protection of the President and CEO and other executives.
  • Conduct advance planning and risk assessments for executive travel, meetings, appearances, and events.
  • Establish and maintain an active system for physical threat identification and management.
  • Develop, implement and maintain executive travel security standards (domestic and international) and practices. Coordinate secure transportation, venue security and travel logistics, as needed.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments and recommend improvements to reduce/prevent violence, threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with the crisis management team to develop and maintain emergency response, evacuation, business continuity, and crisis management plans.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party security service providers.
  • Oversee building access control systems, visitor management, surveillance systems, alarms, and key control.
  • Investigate security incidents and investigate legal, compliance or workplace/workforce related issues as needed/assigned.
  • Provide security training and awareness programs for employees and leaders.
  • Prepare reports and present security updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Facilities:
    • Direct all the development, execution, maintenance, and revision of facilities policies and programs.
    • Strategic lead for effective facilities use, facilities projects and updates and repairs.
    • Oversee facilities maintenance and systems (including vendors and/contractor arrangements) to ensure a safe and professional environment for all employees and guests on site.
    • Manage contract negotiations and communications with vendors and/or contractors in coordination with internal contracting experts.
    • Assure effective management of office supplies and workspace use.
    • Create and maintain a long-term maintenance plan for each location.
    • Manage facilities budget
    • Support with on-site event planning
    • Manage vehicle permit process
  • Partner effectively with key leaders, departments and committees to effectively develop, implement, monitor and take appropriate action related to physical security, crisis response, business continuity security and facilities work (i.e., crisis management team, IS, human resources, legal)
  • Liaise effectively with local, regional and national law enforcement as needed

Job Requirements:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, executive protection, or related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site security operations in a business environment.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Maintain discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in all executive interactions.
  • Build a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
  • Able to work closely and professionally with C-Suite executives and board of directors.
  • Ability to travel regularly between company locations and occasionally for executive support.
  • Calm under pressure with strong situational awareness.
  • High integrity and sound judgment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with executives, employees, and external agencies.
